All participants of the EU ECo project met at the first half year meeting in the sunny – but slightly cold - city of Barcelona. There was though not much time to enjoy the beautiful sights as the program was very tight.
The meeting was hosted by IREC and the program was mainly devoted to presentations of the status of the work packages that were prepared by the work package managers based on inputs from the participants.
Even though the project had only been running for 6 months, already many activities and first results were reported. Initial delays were fast overcome and all partners were dedicated to get the project going according to the plan.
The meeting revealed that many synergies exist and a strong willingness of the partners to collaborate and benefit from each others know how and equipment. Exchange of data and samples were agreed on and the next project steps were discussed.
A big thanks goes to the organisers, who closed the meeting with a tour through the impressive facilities that again gave rise to more discussions on future collaborations.
